CueCard terms of use

Effective November 5, 2026 · CueCard, by Lost Pixel

The deal

CueCard is a free teleprompter. Using it, signed in or not, means agreeing to these terms. They are short because the tool is simple.

Your scripts are yours

Every script you write or import, and every setting you choose, belongs to you. Signing in keeps a copy on CueCard's server so your own devices can fetch it. That copy is scrambled in your browser with a password only you know, so nobody else can read it, Lost Pixel included. Signing in grants no rights to anyone else. The privacy page says exactly what is and is not stored.

Your password can't be recovered by us

Because your scripts are locked with your own password, nobody at Lost Pixel can reset it or open your scripts for you. Keep the recovery key you are shown when you make the password. If you lose both the password and the recovery key, the online copy cannot be opened by anyone. The scripts still on your own devices are not affected.

Keep a backup

Menu, My cues, Save a backup file writes every cue to a .cuecard file on your own computer. That file is the copy that depends on nothing: not this browser, not your account, and not this site continuing to exist. Sync is a convenience, not an archive, and an online copy unused for 12 months deletes itself.

Fair use of sync

Sync exists to carry one person's scripts between their own devices. Each account's online copy is capped at 2 MB. Use that looks like abuse, such as automated traffic, storing things that are not scripts, or trying to reach data that is not yours, can be blocked or removed without notice.

Voice tracking

Voice tracking uses your browser's own speech recognition. In Chrome and Edge, your browser sends the sound of your voice to Google to turn it into words, under Google's terms, not these. It only listens while voice tracking is on and the script is playing. Your scripts themselves are not sent.

What you read is on you

CueCard shows the words you give it. What you say on air, on stage or on camera, and whether you have the right to say it, is your responsibility. CueCard is not legal or broadcast advice.

As-is

CueCard is provided free and as-is, with no warranty of any kind, including that it will be available, error-free or suitable for a live show. To the fullest extent the law allows, Lost Pixel is not liable for any damages arising from its use, including lost scripts, a script that stops or skips during a show, or missed cues. The way to keep this clause boring is the backup file above, and a rehearsal before you go live.

The service can change

Features can change or be withdrawn. If sync were ever to shut down, CueCard keeps working on your device, and your scripts stay exportable the whole time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. If part of them is found unenforceable, the rest still stands.
